I do not know about you, but I have often felt shaken. So, this has to lead one to the understanding that they are not being righteous. I think if we take a good hard look at our lives we can probably agree with that statement in some way.

So, this should drive us ever harder to change our ways. But if you are anything like me, it is yourself that gets in the way. It is our old sin nature that wants to reassert itself in our lives, which is why we must fight even harder.

Granted, the world and the enemy will conspire against us. This is why we must spend much time in scripture and in prayer, so that we might counteract the elements that strive to bring us down. This is how we create righteousness in our lives.

If you are burdened today, cast those burdens upon the Lord. Dive into scripture and prayer and allow them to push away the world that seeks to crush you. You will find your load lightened and it will be easier to stand as the Lord lifts you up. He will take you under His wing and protect you.
