19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV)
Jesus did not teach the disciples and then just leave them. No, He equipped, He enabled, He empowered and then He indwelled each of them.
He does the same things with us today. The problem with us, is that we fool ourselves into believing that we do not have what it takes to be a true disciple. It is a cop out, but it is the ground we stand upon. This is why so much in scripture is said over and over. God knew how weak and worrisome we humans are.
But He makes a profound statement at the end of this scripture, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
That is a promise He has made to every believer. He does not equip us just to abandon us. It may seem at times that He is distant, but as I have written many times that is more of a human emotion and not anything we see in scripture.
Jesus is with you and I every moment of every day. He is always just waiting to see if we will turn toward Him and set our feet to His plan.
