18 In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall. (Psalm 18:29 NLT)
David was praising God for his military abilities and success. He knew where these things came from and Psalms provides many other examples where David put all credit and honor upon God for all he was ever capable of and everything happening around him.
This all encompassing view of God is how we need to approach life as well. There is no part of our life that God does not have a hand in. Even in the difficulties we face He is there. Yes, He may be allowing these things to happen, but it is for a reason.
You see, everything is an orchestration of God and His plan for this world. But how then do we explain bad things that happen? Much of it is the enemy working against us, but even in this God allows that hand in our lives. God is trying to build us in our faith. And yes, it may seem that God is distant, but He is right there just waiting for us to reach out. It can also be that God is using us as an example to others in hardship.
Every moment and every event in every person life plants a seed in their soul. Thomas Merton said this and it rings true to me day in and day out. This is the all encompassing aspect of God that I am speaking about. There is nothing that happens to us that He does not see. We may question the why of what is happening, but we should not question if God is there and in charge of it all.
