14 They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.” (Revelations 17:14 ESV)
Doesn’t it feel, at times, like the world is already waging war against the Lamb? In fact it truly is, along with the ongoing battle the enemy has been waging. But there is comfort in the fact that the Lamb will conquer them all and He is with those called chosen and faithful. We want to count ourselves in the latter.
In the faith life while we must love others we must continually be equipped for war. Scripture tells us to put on the full armor of God. Only in doing so and going through a daily ritual of metaphorically putting on each piece of armor can we stand.
I believe this so much especially if there is some attack or sin in your life that you struggle against reguarly. Do not go begin your morning without finding that piece, or pieces, of armor to put on. If it is a battle in your mind, put on the Helm. If it is your heart, the breastplate. If you are being continually attacked by the fiery darts of the enemy, take up the shield.
We need to move beyond the metaphor and truly equip ourselves for the battle that wages around us each day.
