All The Oms

24 The God who made the world and everything in it—he is Lord of heaven and earth—does not live in shrines made by hands.25 Neither is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives everyone life and breath and all things. (Acts 17:24-25 CSB)

Man has tried to confine God in churches, shrines, trinkets and every other form of man made box. But God will not be confined to a box.

People make their arguments against religion and God, often times, about the church. They get offended because the church is a broken place filled with broken people. But this is what a church is.

Without wishing to attacking specific religions, we have tried to either confine God to our places of worship or twisted the way to worship into something that is wholly man made. The church should not seek to define God, but should be defined by God and yet we do in so very many ways.

When man seeks to make something, he does so in the image that best suits him. He forgets that God made the world and everything in it. God does not live in shrines made by men’s hands. Our service to Him is unnecessary for Him, it is necessary for us. We too often forget that He is Lord of heaven and earth and He gives everyone life and breath and all things.

When we stop trying to confine God to man made structures or models and worship Him as the omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient God he is we begin to see His true nature.
