Losing It

39 Anyone who finds his life will lose it, and anyone who loses his life because of me will find it. (Matthew 10:39 CSB)

This blog post will, I predict, get a lot of views. Because everyone will want to see what I am losing it over. But now that I have you here, let me ask you a question. Are you losing it? I mean really losing it!

You see, there are many things we lose it over. Frustrations in this life abound. Road rage seems to be at an all time high. People are just not tolerant of one another any more. And the enemy loves it! I mean really loves it. The more disconnected he can make us the happier he is, if he can even feel happiness any more, which I doubt. No, he wants us to despair just like he does, so he finds ways to make us lose it.

But there is another way to lose it that is far better. That is when we lose it all so that we find it all. You see, when we let go of everything in this life and choose to let God wholly direct it, we find that our loss is our gain. We no longer have a reason to lose it. We have let go of self, which is what gets in the way to be honest. When we lose our life we find that life opens up to so many more possibilities. Possibilities that are orchestrated and managed wholly by God. And best yet, you really only have to let go of your expectations. You can keep on with your life, just in a new way.

Maybe today is a good day to lose it.
