Who are You

22 But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 Because if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like someone looking at his own face[a] in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of person he was. 25 But the one who looks intently into the perfect law of freedom and perseveres in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer who works—this person will be blessed in what he does. (James 1:22-25 CSB)

What kind of person are you?

Do you know clearly, or do you tend to forget?

I think we all have weak moments where the person we want to be is not the person we are. However, to forget all together would be rare. And, yet, so many people live one way on the weekend and another during the week. Or one way in private and a completely different way in public.

Scripture tell us that we should not forget what type of person we are in Christ, and be doer’s of the word and not just hearers. Anything less and we are deceiving ourselves.

Our message is clear. We are to know who we are in Christ and live up to that image each and every day.
