Trusting More

17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and faithful in all his acts.
18 The Lord is near all who call out to him,
all who call out to him with integrity. (Psalm 145:17-18 CSB)

When the world seems to spin out of control we need to draw nearer to God.

We are assured in scripture that the Lord is near all who call out to Him. Even when we feel like the world is against us, God is for us and faithful in all His acts. Which means that He will work things out even when we feel like it never could. This is seeing with our limited vision, but trusting God with his unlimited knowledge.

Our vision is always limited, but note that I said God’s knowledge is unlimited.

This is an important distinction. I have to wear glasses now. So, more than ever, I know the limitations of my vision. In life I also know my vision as to how anything will work out is very limited. Thus, I must trust ever more in God’s faithful acts. I must trust ever more because I know just how little insight I have into how things will truly pan out.

I call out in thanksgiving for what He is doing and will do on my behalf. When I do not see clearly, I rest upon God’s promises and in His plan. This does not mean that I do not experience anxiety around my not knowing. But it does mean that I recognize that this anxiety comes from such a limited view and I work to trust Him even more.

And what is the outcome of trusting Him more? My faith grows and I learn to rest more in His arms allowing my efforts and His plan to come together for His outcome.
