165 Abundant peace belongs to those
who love your instruction;
nothing makes them stumble. (Psalms 119:165 CSB)
The Bible is full of passages like our’s today. God knew that we would need much comforting in our world. Abundant peace may be what we seek, but we must know where such peace comes and that is not from within us or in the stuff around us.
Loving the Lords instruction requires that we first understand such instruction. We must make sure we are spending time in Bible reading, study, and meditating on them through prayer. Even then our desire for abundant peace may prove elusive. But make no mistake, it is because of our shortcomings and our lack of faith that leads to our broken peace.
I have recently been spending targeted time to sit peacefully, praying and reflecting on God’s direction in my life. I have realized that through this practice I am feeling more at peace with my world. I am leaving space for God to bestow His love upon me and that is creating very peaceful moments in my life.
Scripture tells us we can have abundant peace, but this comes through following His instructions. Even when we do the enemy and the world will strive to impact our peace and make life a continual stumbling block.
Thus, we must seek His abundant peace on a moment by moment basis.
