10 God, create a clean heart for me
and renew a steadfast^[a] spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10 CSB)

Each day dawns anew. We have an opportunity to change ourselves with the dawning of each new day. We do not need to wait, we need to pray and ask for renewal from God who gives freely.

Our scripture today is one I go back to pretty regularly. It reminds me that nothing I have done cannot be atoned for and I can make a new start each day. It reminds me that quite often I need a freshening in my spirit and that God will provide this freshening if I am mindful enough to ask.

The good Lord makes renewal a part of His gifts to us. He makes it where we can, no matter what, begin again. We do not have to wallow in self-doubt or despair No, this is not where the Father wants us living. He desires good for us and this begins with a renewed spirit.

And, as always, when we gain this new spirit we must strive to make it steadfast. To work harder to retain the good works God is doing within our lives.
