Dominion

He left all that he owned under Joseph’s authority; (Genesis 39:6a CSB)

Consider what you have been given authority over. What has God blessed you with stewardship or dominion over?

There is much in life, if we take the time to consider it, that we must “say grace” over. Responsibilities that we have taken on, responsibilities we have been given, maybe even some responsibilities that were thrust upon us.

The problem with this is that we must be careful to stay humble in how we react to responsibility. Being given much it is easy to begin to thrive upon the power we may gain through responsibility. Even in something like a family structure, we need to remain humble in what and who we have some level of dominion over.

God expects us to approach any position with Him at the forefront. Joseph went on from having this authority over one man’s household to having power and authority over all of Egypt and being second only to the Pharaoh. But Joseph remained a humble man of God throughout.

When God gives us dominion over much, we must keep our focus upon the One who has dominion over all.
