4 By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. (2 Peter 1:4 CSB)
We all, once we come to faith, have the wonderful opportunity to share in the divine nature. This statement cannot be taken lightly.
We are to be improving in our walk day by day and we must question, if we are not, why not. We were not made to walk within the corruption that is in the world because of evil. No, we are meant to be continually improving or seeking to improve, walking ever closer to Christ.
How, then, can we say we are walking in faith when we seek strife with a brother. When we do not seek to understand each other and speak truth to each other. We cannot continue in the lie of a life lived with one foot in the world and one foot in heaven. This is a house divided and it cannot stand.
We should be seeking to reconcile with others and to lift each other up. Desiring another’s success as much or more than our own. Seeking to help them rise above the mundane and evil nature of this world and seek first the Kingdom of God.
