9 Compassion and forgiveness belong to the Lord our God, though we have rebelled against him 10 and have not obeyed the Lord our God by following his instructions that he set before us through his servants the prophets. (Daniel 9:9-10 CSB)
I think it can be safely said that America is in full rebellion against God. I do not believe we would be seeing the open strife within our country if we were not. Like Israel we have not obeyed the Lord, nor are we following His instructions. We want to live lives our own way without any interference. So when we are not experiencing God’s compassion and forgiveness we have only one place to look.
This is not to say that there are not good, God fearing and God honoring people in our culture. There are, but they are being shouted down on every corner and on every platform. We are being cancelled and when we fight back we find more and more are against us.
So, do we give up? Do we lay down? I say, no. We do not. In fact we rise up and speak truth boldly. And this not not a rising up in rebellion, but a rising up in love. It is having the backbone to speak the truth when everyone else is speaking lies. It is holding to a Biblical view and living out a life of faith openly and honestly. We are not perfect, far from it. But we are God’s children and we are here to convey a message, and that is Christ crusified for our salvation.
