16 Rejoice always, 17 pray constantly, 18 give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 CSB)
I know I have written to you before on this set of scriptures, but it is one of my very favorite in the Bible. It is something that we can fall back on no matter what our circumstance might be. And it is one that helps us know, in a very direct way, God’s will for your life each and every day.
Rejoice always – not an easy task, but one that can make our lives so much better. When I feel like I am starting to get a negative mindset I refer back to this simple two word scripture, remembering what I have to be happy about.
Pray constantly – how great is it that our Lord tells you to seek Him always, in everything through prayer. Some translations say “pray without ceasing” which can seem daunting. But this just means you are to have a constant dialog with God, you are to be in conversation with Him continually.
Give thanks for everything – another hard one at times. But you are not to just thank God for the good things, but for what you are learning in the difficult as well.
For this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus – I need add nothing to that.
