The Anger of the World

The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:8 CSB)

The world seems to be becoming a harder and angrier place. A place where there is little room for love. The world is discarding God and in the process discarding love.

You do not have to go very far to witness this loss. As our society moves further and further away from God, anger, frustration and discord grow exponentially. There is very little tolerance any longer. People do not show empathy and are apathetic to anything outside of their desires and their version of truth.

Of course this is all biblical, we are headed toward Revelations and people have no idea wha is coming. This war was won when Christ died. The remaining battle is pitched and the world does not win. Possibly people sense their desperation and instead of turning to God they turn to the lies of the enemy.

We, as believers, then must love twice as much to try to make up some for what the world has lost. This is no easy task, we are asked to love those who hate us and be kind to those who would do us harm. I know the struggle here, it goes against our nature because our nature is fallen. Thus we must struggle all the more against our basal nature.

How can we hope to show God’s love when we so easily conform to the anger of the world.
