Our Peace

14 For he is our peace… (Ephesians 2:14a CSB)

As I get older I realize more and more the value of having peace in my life. However, we can run the danger of becoming sedate in our peace. Instead of using it as a moment or time to replenish, we want to sit in it more and more and do nothing. This is something that we have to fight.

Our lives are not meant for peace, but our peace is meant to be found in God. We can confuse peace with inaction and safety. I do not think that is how God looks at peace at all. No, He wants us to find our peace in Him, and then do something with it.

Thus, finding peace in God can be a reflective and relaxing time, but too it can be an active and growing time. God does not separate the two. Whether we are at rest in His peace or very active in His peace, it is a state of mind He wants us to cultivate.

When our mind is at peace it is prepared for all that God brings our way. Be it reflection, study or action. So do not seek to make your peace in God something that makes you sedate. Infuse His peace into all that you do.
