Led Astray

But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your minds may be seduced from a sincere and pure[a] devotion to Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3 CSB)

If we do not have our minds firmly fixed upon Christ it is so easy to be led astray. Everything in this world is there to distract us and seduce us from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. The enemy is continually working to put obstacles in our way, to entice us and to accuse us when we falter.

Only when we fix our eyes upon Christ every moment of every day can we stay on point. And this can be hard for the fallen creatures we are. We want to indulge ourselves. We want to satiate ourselves. We seek to find comfort and follow our own desires. We are easily led astray.

How do we shield ourselves from this? How do we find a way to keep ourselves from our own distractions?

The best remedy I know of is prayer and scripture. When we feel that tug we must be devout and seek direction in scripture and through prayer. We need to seek solitude as well so that our distractions are minimized and we can listen for the Spirits guidance.

The way forward it fixing our eyes upon Christ and not upon the world around us.
