I was talking to someone yesterday who was very upset about all that is happening in the world. He was very angry and upset about everything that has lead up to our current state and the extreme situation in Europe.

He is a fellow believer and was asking how he could manage his anger and anxiety over it all. I asked him a simple question, “are you keeping your eyes on the world or on God?”

We are never going to understand all that is going on in the fallen world around us. However, we know that the enemy is firmly entrenched here. But we know also Christ overcame the world. Thus, we need to be aware of what is going on around us, but keep our eyes always on the Lord.

Pretty much every time we sin we have stopped looking up and begun looking down.

To keep moving forward, positively, we must keep our eyes on the horizon. Watching for what is coming by seeing the way ahead, but keeping our vision on the the better way above which is ever upward.
