Why make life harder.

Seems a simple enough statement doesn’t it.

And yet we do all the time. We choose to complicate life by not following the way of the good, not keeping to the paths of righteousness.

Sadly, that is our nature. We are fallen creatures in a fallen world, but this too is no excuse for those who should be faithful.

Life is complicated enough on its own. Why must we make it even more so by choosing the less than desirable paths? Momentary pleasure? Pride? Selfishness? Vanity? Anger? I can go on…. Oh, there are ever so many reasons. None of them good, all of them fleeting and momentary. We swap the lesser for the greater. We make momentary deals with the devil.

Thank God that HE is faithful. Thank God that when we choose to complicate our lives, He is still merciful and provides us grace. He is still there even in our self-inflicted complications.
