Stop the world, I want to get off.

Have you ever felt this way. Things are just spinning out of control and you want to get off the ride before you get sick.

But we have a job to do. No, not your profession, your vocation. You see, there is a distinction.

You probably went to school and trained for your profession. You became a professional in a given field. Even if you did not go to school, if you have been doing your job for many years you have probably become a professional at it.

But your vocation is given by God. And while you may go to school for this as well, God is the one who equips you for this role. He too is the one who protects you so that you can work at your vocation in this world.

You see, the enemy does not want you to pick up your vocation. He wants to make it as hard as possible for you and discourage you from the task. But you are not of this world. And he knows that you have friends in high places who will protect you so you can do the role no matter how hard it is.

No, for a time we must be in this old world and we must be about the Fathers business. But rest assured, He will equip and protect you in the doing of it. Even unto death.
