78 A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful.” (Luke 1:78 GW)
Each new day affords us the ability to begin anew. This is wholly because our God is loving and merciful. If we will but turn to him and away from the world and our worldly ways.
A fresh start. A new beginning. These are the things I hear so many longing for. Yet they remain stuck in the lives they are living. Too often people do not change because they think they cannot. They believe they are worse off than others or in an uncompromising position.
Listen, the battle to change, to allow a new day to dawn, starts first in our hearts and must migrate to our heads. We must first believe we can, then we begin the process of changing our mindset before we can hope actions can and will change.
Change your heart, change your mind.
Today is a new day, we can choose to make it different than yesterday. And with God’s help, and under the Spirits guidance, we can change our heart, mind and soul.
We can walk into a new day.
Now the how. Begin with this simple prayer; “God, begin a new work in my heart. Spirit guide me to a new path. Lord, Jesus Christ, son of the living God, have mercy upon your servant, a sinner.”
