Regular Usage

15 I will meditate on your precepts
and think about your ways. (Psalm 119:15 CSB)

How much time out of your daily schedule do you take to read, meditate and pray over the scriptures? Not daily? Well, ok, weekly? …. Monthly? ….Yearly?

The sad truth is that so many never crack open their bibles unless they are at church. If you are reading this, then at least you are getting a little bit into your day. But, truly, while I desire the scripture I use and the words I write to be edifying, they are no substitute to your own study.

God gave us this wonderful book called the Bible so that we might know him better. So that we might grow in our faith and expand the principles we live by. When scripture is then coupled with meditation, thinking deeply about what we read and praying for God’s insight we see them unfold in our lives.

It is difficult for us to learn without study. It is tough for us to deepen our walk without reflection and meditation. It is impossible for us to grow close to God without prayer.

I now have a fostered a habit of having my bible with me just about everywhere I go. When I have a moment I take time to open it an read a passage or two, ask for God’s insight and look for application in my life.

Without this regular usage in my life, it grows dull and lightless.
