²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:20 CSB)

You need your buddies around. Your girlfriends. Your mates. Regardless of what you call them, you need them. You especially need them when the world gets wonky. But you need them too when times are great so you can all celebrate the good times together.

And another is there when you take that next step to gather in Jesus name.

I think we take our buddies for granted sometimes. I know we take this line of scripture for granted. And in doing so we may have this underlying idea that Christ is there when we gather in His name, but do we really focus upon just how profound the fact that He is? God is with us when we gather in His name! Wow, just wow. That is incredibly profound. It is not a simple line in scripture, it is a physical act of our Lord.

And lets step this back just a bit and consider that that the Spirit is always with us. This too is a great mystery and a great comfort.

Never forget the The One who shows up for us when we gather in His name. Never forget the Indwelled One who is with us always. Never forget the Father whom we can call upon whenever we need.
