Throwing it Out

34 “You were born entirely in sin,” they replied, “and are you trying to teach us?” Then they threw him out. (John 9:34 CSB)

People do not really want to hear the truth. Not the actual truth. They much prefer living in their own truth, which often isn’t.

Truth has seemed to become this very fluid thing today. Something to be debated. Maybe it always was. Maybe we have just become so jaded to the truth we no longer want to hear that we are substituting the lies of the enemy because they feed our worldly desires.

This is the hard truth.

When we come to the realization that we have been heeding the enemy’s lies, become one with his world view. But even here we balk. We want to argue that it is not we who follow lies, but others who spew them. Maybe we become defensive because we recognize the actual undercurrent of truth.

But like in Jesus’ time it is simply easier to throw out the truth.
