4 We must do the works of him who sent me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work. (John 9:4 CSB)
Is there any urgency in your ministry or evangelism?
Do you sense the coming night?
With all that is going on in the world right now if feels like the sun is setting quickly and night is rushing toward us. If you struggle to understand this analogy, today’s scripture is pretty clear. We have a time on earth to do God’s work before those around us become unreachable and night sets.
But maybe the real struggle here is that when I asked about your ministry or evangelism, you have no answer. The work God gave you to complete during the day is not getting done.
I get it, you are very busy. Your job, your family, your responsibilities consume all of your urgency. You expend everything on these and scarcely have time to even give God a few moments in prayer.
How will this be explained when night does fall?
What will you say about how little urgency you had for God’s plans?
Maybe a bit of your urgency needs to be focused upon finding your path in God’s plan. Then that urgency needs to be utilized in reaching others before the coming night.
