16 All Scripture is inspired by God[a] and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 CSB)
What does it mean to be a complete man (or woman) of God?
We all have our opinions around this and depending upon your church affiliation there are probably more parameters. However, the truth is that to be a man of God we are really to do the following.
- Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. Just love!
- Have no idols before God (not money, not pride, not position, not things….) – Put God first!
- Study scripture “so that the man of God may be complete and equipped for every good work. Without scripture how can you know what to do?
- Pray unceasingly! Make it more than a habit, make it like breathing.
If we will follow these things, all from scripture, we will find that God will equip us to to do everything He put us here to do.
He will equip us to be a man of God.
