A Mature Faith

24 Immediately the father of the boy cried out, “I do believe; help my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24 CSB)

There may be times that even in our belief we experience the weakness of unbelief. It is times like this we need to be like this boy’s father and ask for help with our unbelief.

This is not a time to question our faith, but a time to affirm it even more. To take the questions in our lives to God and ask for His understanding so that we might be strengthened.

Our God is big enough for our feelings of unbelief, our anger, our questioning, for all of the things that He already knows makes us human.

We need only to simply admit our weakness and turn to God to build us up. To take our situations and turn them into something that will help us to grow and provide a mature faith.

It is this mature faith that will hold us steady through the many ups and downs of life, pointing everything back to God.
