Our Own Way

6 We all went astray like sheep;
we all have turned to our own way; (Isaiah 53:6a)

Even in the course of a single day we can tend to go astray and take our own way.

Yes, sometimes our entire life can get off course, but more often than not we succumb to intermittent distractions. Things that make us want to take our own directions down dark pathways.

After many years of riding motorcycles, I have been down many wrong roads. At times those wrong turns have required that I backtrack to find my way again. At others, they lead to a different way to get me to my final destination that was far more enjoyable or difficult than my original course.

Regardless of where I ended up, the one thing I always knew is that God was there with me. Even in the darkest parts of my journey, He has been there to help show me the way back to where He wanted me.

Life does not have to be about dark paths. We do not always have to take our own way to find where we think we want to be. Sometimes we can simply allow God to lead and wonder at the incredible path He is leading us down.
