⁵ Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.^[a] 6 Therefore, we may boldly say,

The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?

It is good to read these scriptures in difficult times. To be reassured that God will never leave us and there is nothing man can do to separate us from His love.

Maybe some of you needed to hear that this morning. I did.

We may all suffer from separation anxiety at times. Times when we feel abandoned. However, we see in our scripture that this is not true. It is only a ploy by the enemy to keep us from experiencing the full love and grace of God.

We can rest assured every moment of our lives that God is there, even when he feels distant. When we need to feel reassured we must take time to get into scripture more. To mine its many rich veins of comfort. While the world seeks to drag us away, scripture brings us nearer.

Know that God will never leave us nor abandon us.
