The Difficult Path

13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who go through it. 14 How narrow is the gate and difficult the road that leads to life, and few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14 CSB)

There is a single road to heaven and that is through belief in Christ and his atoning blood.

Today, we often hear about the many roads to heaven. But do not be fooled, they do not exist.

This is where I may lose some readers, and that is not my desire, so please hear me out.

The reason we have God inspired scripture like our’s today is to prove my point. The world wants us to think that there are many ways one can get to heaven, to be saved. But that is not what scripture tells us. Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and the life. NO one comes to the Father if not by me.”

Jesus statement is explicit, not implicit. There is to be left no ambiguity.

Thus, this is why scripture tells us that the way is narrow and difficult. We want to lower the expectation and make the path a simple one. And in fact it is a simple one. Simply through Christ. But not an easy one.

We may have to give up a lot in order to follow Christ and it is in the letting go that many get hung up.

Consider your view of this today and read scripture to better understand so that the difficult road may be seen clearly.
