1 How joyful is the one
whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered!
2 How joyful is a person whom
the Lord does not charge with iniquity
and in whose spirit is no deceit! (Psalm 32:1-2 CSB)
While we are forgiven when we come to Christ it is often difficult, as humans, to let go of the guilt of our past transgressions. Furthermore, we know that we sin often and we may become distraught over our inability to change.
But when we come to Christ, He knows we come as broken vessels. He did not come to save the holy or righteous, though they need it as much as we. No, He came to save us all from our sinful nature. He came to cover all of our sins.
We will never be perfect this side of heaven but we are covered by the blood of the cross.
We must strive to live right lives, improving always and growing in our faith and wisdom of scripture so that we can fight the enemy.
But know that you are covered and be joyful in that assurance.
