Hidden but Active

11 I have treasured your word in my heart
so that I may not sin against you. (Psalm 119:11 CSB)

At times we take medicine that has a time released response in our body. It is active but meters out what our body needs over a period of time after we have taken it.

Scripture, and prayer, work the same way. As we learn from what we read and how we learn, the Word may lay dormant until a time when we need it most. Like most knowledge it is ready for us to use when we most need it.

It is hidden but active in our lives.

There are two important elements to the active word. First, it is there to remind us when we begin to enter into sin to correct our thinking and our path. Second, it is there so that when God brings a divine appointment our way we will have the right words to say to those He brings us in contact with.

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV)
