Come To Your Senses

34 Come to your senses[a] and stop sinning; for some people are ignorant about God. I say this to your shame. (1 Corinthians 15:34 CSB)

“Boy, you know better than that!” These words ring in my ears from my childhood. When I had done something that I knew was wrong my fathers admonishment was worst than any punishment. I had let him down by not doing what I knew was right.

In our scripture today our Heavenly Father is saying the same thing. “Come to your senses” and stop doing what you know is wrong. Others may be ignorant about God and scriptural guidance, but we are not.

God is saying, you know better and yet you keep on sinning!

Part of this continuation is our sinful nature, part our stubbornness and part just plain disobedience.

What ever it may be, God is giving us the way to correct it, just come to our senses. He has given us the sensibility to not do wrong. We must simply follow them.
