20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body,[a] I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 CSB)
What does it really mean to be “Crusified with Christ”?
Lets’s make this one easy. It is to be dead to sin and alive in Christ (living a victorious life).
But if we are dead to sin, why do we still sin?
Because we are human. Sin is part of our nature, but we should not blatantly give in to it. We are meant to fight it and the enemy daily. By taking up our cross living each moment with this knowledge. Using the Armor of God to protect us.
But how many of us are taking the second step and living a victorious life? Do we look at our lives and know, deep down, that everything is going to be okay? Or do we live in fear of what might happen. This too is sin in that we are not trusting God for the next moment.
To do this we must plan for tomorrow but live in today. We are only promised this moment. This one. Right now. Nothing more. Anything can happen in the next moment. So we must, as Christians, live as close to a life dead to sin and alive in Christ.
