8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in faithful love. (Psalm 103:8 CSB)

Sometimes we need to be reminded about some of the core traits of God. His compassion and grace. His abounding and faithful love.

Those are just words to our eyes and ears, but they should be a balm to our heart and soul. The mind comprehends but the heart feels and absorbs the Father’s love.

The other take away from this scripture should be the words, abounding and faithful.

We may experience great love in our lives. But we can never experience the ever abounding love of the Father except from the Father. It is a love that supersedes everything and ecompassesses everything. It is without measure and without end. It Abounds.

It, too, is a faithful love. Meaning that God will never break his covenant with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us and his love is eternal. There is none more faithful.

Contemplate this today and feel the embrace of the Father.
