6 The point is this:[a] The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7 CSB)
I have said before in these devotions there are three things we have to give; Time, Treasure, Talent.
These are the only true investments in our lives. Everything else is a byproduct of how we spend these.
In every case, how we sow these is exactly how we will reap them.
These scriptures are often used in relationship to our tithe to the church. But I seem them as vastly more inclusive to how we live our lives.
In all cases, with our families, in our business, with our friends, and yes with our tithe, how we spend or sow the three T’s is exactly how we will reap the rewards.
Sadly, the world wants us to pour these into our selves and our careers mostly. Selfish endeavors to be sure. Because what suffers most, our families. We may make one more dollar from our business but we cannot pay for one more moment with our families or friends.
There is a balance in all things, but one thing that you can be assured of. Every ounce of these you invest/sow in God’s work will reap the greatest rewards.
