I have recently had a few friends suffer loss. One his house in the California fires and another the loss of a close friend.

Life is about gains and losses. Sometimes it seems that the losses pile up and the gains are few. Life can surely be a struggle. However, we can count it all as loss and the gain out of life is coming to know Christ. In this gain we gain eternity which makes what we have here pale by comparison.

It may feel like life is the longest part while we are living it, but in the light of eternity it is fleeting.
