“And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”  (Matthew 10:42)

Even during our lean times we typically have more than enough. Reaching out a hand to someone with less is a double kindness. It blesses the one receiving and it blesses the one giving. Thus, we receive an immediate reward for our act of kindness.

However, there is too reward in heaven. God does not forget our acts of kindness and generosity.

Yea, it is not for these things we act in kindness, but to lift up our fellow traveler.
