13 Therefore, with your minds ready for action, be sober-minded and set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the desires of your former ignorance. (1 Peter 1:13-14 CSB)
We tend to stumble through life, letting it happen to us. Action is typically reaction and not something that we aspire to.
But God has a different plan. A plan for us to be ready always for Kingdom action, ready to respond to those needing a good word. Some times it may just be our presence and at other times it may be to act on another’s needs.
Regardless, we are not to wallow in our former ignorance, but to be ready always for action.
