“This is what the Lord says: ‘Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,’ declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 9:23-24)

When we think of people being boastful, they tend to do so based on the above scripture; wisdom, strength, wealth.

However, we are given a true reason to boast; A proper boast, if you will. Learning to understand God, and thus his will. Kindness, Justice and righteousness are the good things that God delights in.

Only in righteousness do we have to be careful and not find ourselves be self righteous. But this too is difficult to do wrong when we have others best interest in mind.
