I read this today and thought back to my childhood when we have fire drills and were taught “Stop, Drop and Roll”.

We sometimes need the same kind of training in our spiritual life and this group of scripture provides just that.

The first few may be a bit difficult for some to well comprehend. We can stifle the Spirit when we do not listen to His leanings and put our selves first. While we do not hear a lot of direct prophecies, we are often given messages in various ways that we then need to test against scripture and prayer.

In this was, we can stay away from every kind of evil.
