3 For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 Let each person examine his own work, and then he can take pride in himself alone, and not compare himself with someone else. 5 For each person will have to carry his own load. (Galatians 6:3-5 CSB)
Today’s passage has to do with looking upon others who may have stumbled in the faith and feeling superior.
We have all fallen short at times, maybe many times. Thus, to look upon another and feel superior simply because you have not done what they have is really staring into a mirror.
Just because the sin is different, doesn’t make us any less guilty. We carry our own load (burden of sin).
We must look on others in love and lift them up when they stumble. Helping them bear their burden while realizing the weight of our own. Maybe we are just in a better place at that moment. But a better place does not make us better.
