Aroma

“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing” (2 Corinthians 2:14-15)

How do you smell?

Hang with me a moment and let me better rephrase the question. What aroma do your words and actions create? The sweet aroma of the knowledge and the manifestation of Christ who is living within you?

We may use the word “rotten” to describe something that is decaying or something that creates a foul aroma. In either case the idea is the same. It is no longer something worthy of our attention and should be cast aside.

What does our character reflect? Something with a sweet aroma or something rotten? Often it is the subtleties in life that reveal our true aroma. Those small actions and words that reveal who we really are.
