17 Iron sharpens iron,
and one person sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17 CSB)

We each need encouragement throughout our lives. Without someone to be an advocate may feel adrift and very alone in this world.

We know that we have the Spirit as an advocate to provide guidance. However, we need close brothers (or sisters) to help hone our lives in Christ. Someone to be accountable to and to use as a sounding board.

Mentors too play a key role in our development, helping us to grow and cheering us along.

With these three we are provided the Spirit as guide, the close brother to hone our walk, and the wise counselor to who can help us see who we are.
