3 So I sent messengers to them, saying, “I am doing important work and cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?” (Nehemiah 6:3 CSB)
We are all working in a new norm. For the self-motivated this may not have been all that difficult. But for those who are not naturally self-motivated it may be a time of great uncertainty and doubt.
We need only to look, once again, at scripture for guidance. We have important work to do and we must find ways to order our lives so that we can diligently carry out this work.
Removing distractions, finding a place that is conducive to work, setting bouandries and just like normal, setting a time for work, rest and reflection.
Reflection is the one thing that gets set aside most reguarly for many. I spend time each morning reading and reflecting on scripture. My afternoon reflection, late in the day, is typically on the work I have done and preparation for the next day. Evening reflection is again back to scripture and how I lived my day.
This is an important part of every day so that I am both prepared for the day and properly motivated.
