8 Dear friends, don’t overlook this one fact: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. 9 The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:8-9 CSB)
Patience is in short supply these days. Wouldn’t it be nice to know that there is at least one place you could go where One is patient with all of your failings and your slow response to His offer of love.
Furthermore, accepting His patience gives us the ability to display patience with others. Too often we are less patient with those who are closest to us. Thus, through His patience with us we are given the opportunity to show patience with others.
But the better news here is that the Lord does not delay his promise. His patience means that His love is always waiting for each of us.
Do not delay and run to His patient arms.
