The road is not always nice and smooth and straight. For anyone who has driven or ridden out in West Texas can tell you, long stretches of straight road that seem to go on forever can be quite boring.

However, it is never easy to accept difficulties in life. While we may not want to road of life to be continually straight, we do prefer it to be pleasing views and easy corners. But that is not how life is.

Should we only then accept the good times in life from God and curse the bad times?

In truth we learn far more in adversity than we do in prosperity.
