7 The person who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence indeed is the Lord, is blessed. (Jeremiah 17:7 CSB)
Trust and confidence can be elusive creatures. Sometimes we trust too freely and at other times too slowly. Confidence seems to come and go with the wind and the waves of life.
It is easy to mist the “in” and “is”…
We tend to put the in and is on us and through us. We look to our own wisdom for trust and our own success for confidence.
But when we take the in and is and put them through Christ, then everything changes. Suddenly trust becomes faith that He will act and confidence becomes the wisdom of where it is founded. In and is should only be with Christ.
