3 Never let loyalty and faithfulness leave you.
Tie them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart. (Proverbs 3:3 CSB)
Loyalty and faithfulness are values that were once both highly valued and pretty common. However, today they are in less supply and, as such, it seems that demand has dismissed as well.
Now I say this mostly looking toward our professional lives. We still value loyalty and faithfulness in our friends and in our spiritual life. But even here we have allowed the superficial connections to rule over deep connections.
My belief is that much of this is because we now live so much of our lives behind glass. Social Media has replaced one on one friendships. We circumvent a deep spiritual relationship for what we see before us and not what is within us.
Thus, in our “sound bite” driven world where is there time for building loyalty or displaying faithfulness.
Yet there is a deep need for both.
