10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:10)
We struggle to be well content when everything is going in our favor, much less when we are struggling in life.
Paul contends that even in his weakness he learned to be content, in his weakness he was strong.
How could this be? How can we be strong in our weakness?
Paul trusted God completely. He knew that even in his weakness (what he called his thorn) that God was working toward his perfection. Paul asked three times for the torn to be taken from him.
God’s response? “My grace is sufficient for you.”
This is one of my favorite parts of scripture. Knowing that God is there and I am sufficient in His grace makes the hand times far easier to weather.
